Dear authors

The Third International Remote Sensing of Urban Areas will be held on 11-13 June 2002 in İstanbul, Turkey. On behalf of the
Organizing Committee we are pleased to inform you that following papers were selected for presentation during an interactive POSTER session at this symposium.

Speakers and participants alike find that interactive sessions provide an excellent mechanism for technical presentation. This
presentation format is particularly effective in the field of remote sensing and GIS where imagery, photographs, charts, graphs,
maps, videotapes, or computer displays are an integral part of the subject matter and are difficult to show large audiences.

We also would like to have all these accepted papers published in the symposium proceedings. To meet the publication deadline, the manuscripts
(minimum 6, maximum 8 pages) must be received at the symposium secretariat on or before 26 April 2002 Friday

One or more 1 meter wide by 2.45 meters high poster boards and adequate supply of pushpins will be provided if requested by 31
May 2002 Friday. Please note, if you are bringing equipment from USA/Canada, you may need a converter for use with European electrical outlets. The Symposium cannot be responsible for poster materials left after the end of a session.

It is strongly recommended that you make early reservations for flights, and advance register for the symposium. Detailed
information will be given in this WEB site.

We are looking forward to your significant contribution to a most successful symposiıum in İstanbul.

*Authors wishing to have their poster paper also peer-reviewed for the Special Issue of International Journal of Remote Sensing should
send the manuscript to the symposium secretariat in the format required for International Journal of Remote Sensing (different than
from that required for the proceedings, you may find required information in journal's WEB page:
http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/tf/01431161.html). Manuscripts will be first reviewed by the International Scientific Committee of the Symposium and then selected papers
will be peer-reviewed by the reviewers.

If you have additional questions regarding your poster presentations, please contact Symposium Secretary A.Prof. Filiz Sunar Erbek (fsunar@ins.itu.edu.tr).

LET'S MEET WHERE THE CONTINENTS MEET...

Sincerely
