PHOTOGRAMMETRIC SILHOUETTE PROJECT FOR LOCATION DECISION OF ALTUNIZADE HOTEL

The aim of this project is to obtain the silhouette of Camlica Hill and its surrounding which is one of the most historical and touristic parts of Istanbul and can be viewed from different sights. The photogrammetric silhouette is going to be used for the location decision of a new planned large multi-stored building  block which is planned to be constructed as a hotel and bureau center at Altunizade, Camlica. For this purpose the area was examined, location of control points and exposure centres were determined with the help of existing maps  and air photographs and it was decided to photograph the possible construction site from four different directions in the aesian and european part of the city Istanbul. Each control point coordinate was determined with GPS measurements and transformed into national coordinate system. For obtaining photogrammetric data a digital camera DCS460 with a focal length of 150 mm and Rolleiflex 6008 metric camera with focal length 150 mm was used. t was a necessity to use this focal length, as the distance between exposure  centre and the object changed up to 5 km. Images, taken by KODAK DCS460  are directly used in the digital environment. Photographs, taken by Rolleiflex 6008 which were polyclen enlarged prints were scanned. These images are evaluated with PC based digital photogrammetric software PICTRAN, using bundle adjustment method. Information, which is produced by PICTRAN, is transformed into AUTOCAD system and  linear evaluation was made. An orthogonal projection which is perpendicular to the plane of images at AUTOCAD system was made in order to obtain the evaluation between 1/1000 and 1/3000 scale. With the help of the software, developed by Photogrammetry Division, different projections and the sight views with changing from various viewing points are obtained online.
