Supported by the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) for two years, this project involves a collaboration between Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and the electricity distribution companies BEDAS, AYEDAS, UEDAS, TEDAS, and SEDAS. The initiative aims to use satellite imagery and artificial intelligence algorithms to detect damages to electrical networks and transformer centers that may occur after a potential Marmara earthquake. Prof. Dr. Nebiye Musaoğlu from ITU's Department of Geomatics and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülşen Taşkın from the Institute of Disaster Management will serve as the project's coordinators.
