Pre- and Post-Conference Tours
	A number of tours to different parts of Turkey will be organized, some before and some after the conference. These will include visits to historically and culturally important sites and to major engineering projects.
Excursions
	During the Conference, half-day visits to interesting engineering projects in the vicinity of Istanbul are planned.
Weather
	Weather in Istanbul is moderate with an average temperature between 24-30 degrees Celsius in August. The Aegean and Mediterranean regions enjoy hot summer days and warm evenings while the Central Anatolian Plateau is hot and dry during the day and fairly cool in the evenings.
